Isaac D. Jones - Speed & Strength Coach

Isaac was the starting quarterback at Strath Haven as a sophomore. He led the Panthers into their first district championship and into the state playoffs. In his senior season, he was the Delaware County Player of the year, All-State, and played in the Big 33 Game. Ike played in the Big Ten at Purdue, where he was a receiver. He was Purdue’s team captain and leading receiver in 1998. Isaac caught the game winning touchdown in the closing minutes of the Alamo Bowl from Drew Brees (New Orleans Saints) during his senior season. His 83 receptions in a season were 2 nd on the all-time Purdue list. He ended his career 9th in total receiving yards and 4th in career receptions for the Boilermakers. He was All Big 10 Honorable Mention. Isaac received the 1998 Purdue Football Citizenship Award and was nominated for the NCAA Sportsperson of the year. The award goes to the student-athlete who demonstrates respect, fairness, civility, honesty, and responsibility among athletes, coaches and officials.

Kelton Heverly - 2028 Coach

 

Four year varsity lacrosse player at Ridley High School, Earning All-Delco and Central League honors.  Went on to play Division 1 lacrosse at Mount St. Mary's University for four years earning a degree in Sociology and Elementary Education.  

Currently working in Ridley School District.  

Has coached at the youth level which include:  Maple Zone 3rd grade summer team, and Ridley youth 3rd grade Spring team.  Current coach for the Ridley High School JV and Varsity, as well as the PA Roughriders 2020 Summer team.

Honors and Awards:

Ended career fourth in MU history in caused turnovers (29) and seven in ground balls (63)

2017 Season: Started all 16 games for Marquette, securing 29 ground balls and causing 15 turnovers ...  Named to the All-BIG EAST Championship Team.

2016 Season: Grabbed two ground balls and caused a turnover in MU's season opener against Bellarmine ... Recorded first start of the season against Richmond (Feb. 27), finishing the contest with four ground balls and one caused turnover ... 

2015 Season: Played in 13 of MU's 16 games and made a pair of starts on defense, including the BIG EAST Conference semifinal game against Georgetown (April 30) ... Picked up a pair of ground balls in his first start of the year against No. 6/6 Duke (April 18).

2014 Season: Made his first career start at Jacksonville (March 8) ... ... Started the next three games at defenseman and appeared in nine total games in 2014.

Prior to Marquette: Four-year letterwinner at Ridley High School ... Under head coach Kevin Ellers, named to First-Team All-Central League twice and First Team All-Delaware Country ... Co-Captain his senior campaign ... Played with HEADstrong Lacrosse Club and Under Armour Underclass Team Philadelphia ... Also lettered two years in football for the Raiders.


Rory Friel - 2025 Head Coach

 

Graduate of Ridley High School 2001. Captain of the football and lacrosse team (Central League and State Champs). After high school, Friel went to Cabrini and was a four-year starting attackman (2002-05), Friel collected 82 goals and 92 assists, putting him then sixth on Cabrini’s all-time list in goals, second in assists and fifth in total points (174). Friel helped the Cavaliers win four Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) championships and earn their first four NCAA tournament bids, earning all-PAC recognition for himself his final three seasons.Friel made first-team all-conference as a sophomore in 2003 after leading the Cavaliers in both goals (35) and assists (27). He capped the year with three goals and three assists as the Cavs stunned host Widener 13-8 for their first-ever NCAA tournament win. Two-time Cavalier captain Rory Friel returned in May 2006 as an offensive and man-up coach for the Cabrini lacrosse team, nearly a year to the day after collecting his diploma – and Cabrini’s Male Athlete of the Year award (among all sports). The Cavs went to the Elite 8 in ’09 where Cabrini had the #1 offensive in the country. Friel left Cabrini after the 09’ season and went to Springfield High School to coach with former teammate, Tom Lemieux, as his OC for the next 3 years. Following his time at Springfield, Friel went to back home to Ridley and joined Kevin Ellers staff as the OC for two seasons. Rory has been the head coach of Ridley the last three years. 

Cade Heverly- 2028 Coach - Face Off Specialist

 

Cade is currently entering his sophomore year at Georgetown University where he is a member of their Men's Lacrosse program.  Cade understands the game of lacrosse and brings his current experience at the Division I level to the youth laxers in DELCO LC.

Prior to Georgetown: Started all four years at Ridley High School … Named Honorable Mention All-Delco and received Central League honors as a freshman, sophomore and senior … Also wrestled at Ridley for three years, earning Honorable Mention All-Delco honors … Played club lacrosse with Headstrong and Sweetlax … Won the 2015 and 2016 Lake Placid Team Championships with Sweetlax. 

Matt Murray - Goalie Coach

 

 

Matt is in charge of all goalie training for both the boys and girls programs.  Matt graduated from Marymount University in 1999.  While in goal, he earned All-Capital Athletic Conference honors 3 times, was team captain for 2 years as well as defensive MVP for 2 years.  Prior to Marymount, Matt graduated from Ridley HS in 1995 with All-American, All-State and All-League honors while leading his team to the state championship game in back to back years.  Matt's knowledge of the game and his passion for teaching the game he loves brings another valuable addition to the the Delco LC staff.  Welcome aboard Matt.
